The HardingFPA-X is our main file-based workflow product, briefly it is a distributed, networked, multi-channel, multi-user analysis system for file-based-workflows consisting of a suite of application programs that are designed to integrate into an existing set of networked hardware. The HFPA-X is a cross platform product with components for both Windows and MAC platforms and can operate in a mixed environment with the core analysis module residing on either a MAC or a Windows node on the network and other modules in the system using Mac or Windows platforms as available or required in yourworkflow.
The HFPA-X includes an MXF library to support OPAtom and OP1A format MXF wrapped media and also uses QuickTime as a core architectural component allowing access to any file format supported by QuickTime (e.g. .MOV’s). There is also platform dependant support for AVI’s (e.g. on Windows hosted analysers). The HFPA-X offers both HD/SD and SD-only versions and uses an FFMpeg library to provide a built-in selection of popular codecs.
The HFPA-X is a multi-user system that puts information directly onto editors' desktops.
The HFPA-X is designed to support automated workflows (e.g. working under Final Cut server, Avid Interplay, Signiant, Ardome, etc.) by providing watched folder support, etc. as well as interactive working from the editors desktop. It also has other ways (including using web services, XML tokens and user driven approaches) for submitting work.
The HFPA-X system is based on dedicated analyser nodes on a network providing PSE analysis reports to a number of small, less processor intensive cross platform ‘Viewers’ that are designed to reside on the editor’s workstation. One of our driving forces for the HFPA-X is to put easier access to analysis and more and better information on what has gone wrong in the hands of the editor who has to fix the problems. The HFPA-X is also highly configurable to meet your exact needs and can be easily extended by adding more Analysis Channels and/or more Viewers to grow with your demands.
